Spend a day on Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze, which soars a height of 2962 metres. Those with time to spare can enjoy a leisurely trip with the cogwheel train from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the Zugspitzplateau at an altitude of 2600 metres in 75 minutes. Those in a hurry can choose one of the quicker routes:

• By cogwheel train from Grainau (60 minutes) or from the Lake Eibsee (40 minutes) or by Eibsee cable car, directly to the summit in 10 minutes.

• On the Zugspitzplateau you have  the opportunity  to hike alongside the glacier in approximately 45  minutes.  From the Zugspitzplateau, you can reach  the summit in just 4 minutes by Glacier Cable Car.

The visitor is awaited by a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view over more than 400 peaks in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Germany.
